"Great customer service for last minute cancellation"
Due to the wildfires in California, my wife and I decided it wasn't a good time to travel to the West Coast. Although we called to cancel on such short notice, the staff completely understood the situation and were able to cancel our reservation free of charge. They were very responsive and helped us through this difficult situation. Looking forward to visiting at a later time.

"Going above and beyond"
We arrived a bit early room wasn’t ready however we were at least an hour before check-in and in the meantime Neil at the front desk offered to put rose petals on the bed because we are celebrating our three-year anniversary went and hand cut them from the garden. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable for being such a small boutique hotel they still did breakfast and had a great patio to sit and overlook the river on we will stay again. Thanks again meal and all the gentleman at Rio Vista

"AMAZING EXPERIENCE AT RIO VISTA HOTEL!!!! "
Beautifully restored Victorian mansion with modern amenities and uniquely beautiful rooms and suites. Service was top-notch and extremely amenable to our needs. Our queen seat even had a jetted hot tub not mentioned on the website! The bed was incredibly comfortable, bathroom clean, modern and luxurious, and staff friendly and available. Will definitely stay again!

"Luxury by the sea"
I traveled with friends for a Thanksgiving celebration and looked at a number of places to stay in Santa Cruz. Most were pretty plain and depressing. Then I came across Rio Vista- What a delight! Just opening after a major renovation, the Rio is now the ONLY place I will stay when in the area. Beautifully appointed modern luxury in an elegant victorian with lovely views and a short walk to the ocean and boardwalk. You can't get much better than that! My teenage daughter and I were totally taken care of by the sweet staff. In fact they went out of their way to accommodate us. The continental breakfast had a nice variety of foods with even a gluten-free oatmeal for my daughter. And we loved laying out front in the lovely garden overlooking the river and entertaining our friends who were envious as they booked a shabby room in the motel up the street. All in all a remarkable experience for everyone and a place I highly recommend!
